The Historic Alumni Meet of Central School (KV) Indore

Maheshwar | February 2025 The Central School (KV) Indore Alumni Meet, held in the timeless and regal setting of Maheshwar in February 2025, was far more than a simple gathering. It was a nostalgic odyssey back to the roots of shared childhoods and lifelong friendships. Set against the majestic silhouette of Ahilya Fort and the serene banks of the Narmada River, the event unfolded as a perfect harmony of cultural heritage and heartwarming reconnections. Organization and Distinguished Attendance This grand reunion was meticulously envisioned and organized by Rajendra and Vinay, whose primary goal was to create an intimate retreat away from the city's frantic pace. The meet witnessed an extraordinary turnout, most notably featuring the pioneer batch of 1964-65. The gathering included more than ten couples, along with individual alumni and their families. The presence of spouses added a warm, familial dimension, transforming a formal school reunion into a grand, extended family celebration. A Traditional Malwa Welcome The journey began in Indore with a quintessential Malwa greeting: a hearty Poha-Jalebi breakfast at the famous Ravi Alpahar Gruh. Following the meal, the alumni traveled in a convoy of individual vehicles to Maheshwar, where they checked into the MP Tourism Resort. The proceedings officially commenced with a visit to the historical Devi Ahilya Fort, followed by a mesmerizing walk along the Narmada ghats. The first day concluded with a vibrant Gala Evening, where toasts were raised to long-lasting bonds, followed by a grand dinner at the resort restaurant. The Golden Morning: Sahastradhara and Beyond The following morning was a highlight of the trip, beginning with the breathtaking view of the sunrise over the river. The Power Boat Expedition: The entire group embarked on a power boat journey to the famous Sahastradhara. A Living History: Amidst the roar of the river’s full stream, the air was filled with singing, lighthearted teasing, and the sharing of "funny days" memories. Alumni enthusiastically guided their partners through the scenic views, recreating the youthful energy of their school years. Yaadon ka Jharokha (The Window of Memories) Since all sessions were held outdoors in the lap of nature, the atmosphere remained spirited and informal. There was no lid on the laughter, singing, or the pitch of joyful conversations. The Mock Roll Call: A sentimental yet hilarious "mock roll call" was conducted. Each alumnus stood up to reveal their school-day pranks and the nicknames that once echoed through the corridors of Central School. Cultural Exploration and the Final Leg To honor the local craftsmanship of the region, the group visited the Rehwa Society. Here, they enjoyed a Maheshwari Weaving Tour, witnessing the intricate artistry required to create the world-famous Maheshwari saris. The festivities didn't end at the riverbanks; the camaraderie continued as the convoy drove back to Indore for a final gathering at Hotel Crown Palace. A Lasting Legacy and Tribute The meet reached its emotional peak during a session where each alumnus shared their life journey—recounting the years between leaving school and this historic reunion. The event was graced and witnessed by the respected Dinesh Dwivedi Sir. In a moving gesture of gratitude, Shri Dwivedi Sir was honored with a Shawl and Shreefal, a traditional mark of deep respect for his role in shaping the lives of the students. The Maheshwar Meet of 2025 will be remembered not only for its scenic beauty but for rekindling the "Central School Spirit"—a bond that neither time, nor distance, nor professional life could ever fade. =॥ "तत्त्वं पुष्णनपावृनु
